Ghodbunder Road, Thane: area guide

Ghodbunder Road (GB Road) is Thane’s main residential growth corridor. It runs north-west from the Majiwada–Kapurbawdi junction past Manpada, Kasarvadavali and Owale towards Gaimukh and Mira–Bhayandar, with the Yeoor hills of Sanjay Gandhi National Park along its western side.

Most of Thane’s large gated townships are on Ghodbunder Road, with big amenity decks, schools and retail inside or close to them. It suits families who want space and greenery and are comfortable commuting by road.

GB Road links the Eastern Express Highway at Majiwada with the Western Express Highway via Mira–Bhayandar. That makes it a common choice for households with one commute towards Thane and Central Mumbai and another towards the western suburbs.
